This document was drafted programmatically from Babylone's actual data-handling code, but has not been reviewed by a lawyer. It contains placeholders (in red) that must be completed, and should get real legal review before being relied on or presented as final.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Babylone (the "Service"), operated by [Legal Entity Name — to be finalized] ("Babylone", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. The Service

Babylone is a vocabulary learning platform: a spaced-repetition style review app, an optional browser extension for capturing words from video subtitles, and (as features ship) community-shared word decks and AI-assisted conversation practice. Some features are still in development — the app and its documentation indicate which ones are live.

2. Accounts

You need an account (email and password) to sync your data across devices. You're responsible for keeping your password secure and for all activity under your account. You must provide an accurate email address. One account per person; don't create accounts for the purpose of evading a suspension.

3. Your Content

Vocabulary, categories, example sentences, tags, and any words saved via the browser extension ("Your Content") remain yours. You grant Babylone a license to store, sync, back up, and display Your Content back to you as needed to operate the Service — including, if you explicitly choose to share a deck publicly once that feature ships, to display it to other users. We don't sell Your Content or use it to train third-party models without your explicit opt-in.

4. Acceptable Use

Don't: attempt to access another user's account or data; scrape, reverse-engineer, or automate access to the Service beyond normal use; upload unlawful, infringing, or abusive content (including in any future community deck feature); attempt to disrupt or overload the Service or circumvent rate limits or other abuse protections; use the Service to violate any applicable law.

5. Subscriptions and Billing

6. Termination

You can delete your account at any time from Settings ("Delete My Account"), which permanently removes your account and associated data — see the Privacy Policy for exactly what that covers. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with notice where practical.

7. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any particular learning outcome will result from using it.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Babylone and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising from your use of the Service.

9. Governing Law

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date above; continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance.
